Man shot, killed on Jacksonville's Westside; suspect at large

JSO said the suspect is not in custody but that there is no threat to the community.

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside a home in Jacksonville's Westside Saturday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 6800 block of Tango Lane at around 4 p.m. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.

Both the victim and the suspect knew each other and police believe the shooting is the result of a dispute between the two.

JSO said the suspect is not in custody but that there is no threat to the community.

Tango Lane is blocked off where the incident happened and could be blocked for a few hours or until Sunday morning, police said.

JSO did not disclose a description of the suspect or the victim.
