Program designed to save your kid's life now available year-round in Avondale

Operation Kidsafe allows you to print an AMBER Alert bio page for your children.

One of a parent's worst fears is their children going missing. Now, there's a way to help find your kid faster, in the event the unthinkable happens.

Operation Kidsafe is a program started by Mark Bott. Bott was involved in starting the AMBER Alert program.

Alan Himmelreich opened this year-round Child Safety Center in his insurance office in Avondale. You can bring your child in and have their picture and fingerprints taken. It prints off on a card for you to take home and fill out.

None of that information is saved in the computer. The card is for you to take home to give to law enforcement if you handed the card over.

"The most important aspect of someone disappearing is time," Himmelreich said. "We need to reduce that time and have a package that you can give to the police. and that's what we're creating, and AMBER Alert package."

Operation Kid Safe is inside the Allstate Insurance office on St. Johns Avenue in Avondale.

It's open-year round during their normal business hours and getting your child's bio card is free.
